San Diego/Sleep, here I come!

Conor and Keira had their meeting w/ infant development earlier this month.  Not to my surprise, they are behind in their language, but nothing to be worried about.  Considering how early they were born, this is expected.  They understand what you are saying very well but arent too quick to talk themselves.  So we were given some ways of helping them to talk.  Since then we have finally gotten Conor to say Up and both use the sign for “more”.  Im really trying to teach them the sign for “Help”.  Cant take too much more of that squeal.  Its the same squeal wether they are trying to reach their sippy cup or their finger is caught in the closet.

Conor’s new thing is to walk around w/ his hands in his pockets.  Makes him look so grown up.  I love it.  And Keira has all of a sudden refused to bathe.  We had this happen before and it took a while to get her comfortable w/ the bath.  But a couple of weeks ago, when I was putting her in, she slipped a little, and I mean a little, and now it is a fight to get her in the tub.  I hate it b/c Im afraid that her squirming will make me drop her.  I just sing a lot of fun songs when she is in the tub and dont make her stay in longer than necessary.  Then she will watch Conor bathe which I think helps because he has so much fun in the tub.  Keira is really getting into the actions of songs.  She does “If your happy and you know it / If you love Him and you know it” (both versions – she loves raising her hands for Amen), “Who did make the flowers grow” (she’s really good at the flower part and pointing to God in Heaven above), “Im in the Lords Army”, and “Head and SHoulders, knees and toes”.  She sings too in the car, so cute!!

This Thursday, Shaun and I are off to San Diego for 4 nights.  Needed a break from the kids and some time w/ just eachother.  Havnt gone on a vacation since our honeymoon 5 years ago.  All my vacation time was spent going home to visit friends and family (which I wish I could do more often).  So we plan on going to the zoo, seaworld, shopping at the outlets, eating at different restaruants (I refuse to eat at the same ol restaurants we have back home, whats the point when there is so much better and different food out there!) and hopefully some relaxation.  Oh, and I will get to sleep past 5 am!!!!!  Our amazing nanny Stacey is staying with the kids.  I am so thankful to have someone that we can trust w/ our children and that they love her so much.

Today at church, kids let me leave them in the nursery and I got to hear the sermon.  I think I have only heard like 5 sermons in the last year.  I am hoping that soon I will be able to sit upstairs w/ them and they can last longer than 5 min in the pew.  Its hard being at church w/out a spouse to help you out when you have twins.  Others are quick to help but Conor and Keira dont let others help me.   Im sure they will outgrow that soon.

I have posted below a few pics we took at the beach last month.  Shaun and I try to take the kids to do something as a family every friday afternoon.  Last week he took Conor swimming and Keira and I went to play at the park.
