Last night was horrible.  From midnight until 10 am I was up every hour.  Keira just wont eat enough in the night and then is hungary real soon.  How do I get them to sleep longer?  I will put her back in her crib but she doesnt seem to like to lie flat on her back but is content in the swing (even if it isnt swinging).  Luckily Shaun is great about taking the kids when I need a nap which I had when he came home from work today!

Here are some more pics of the babies.  Most are taken by Chelsey Roberts, I think they were about 8 weeks.  The last one is of Keira later on.  The bunnies in the one pic were bought by my mom in England before we lost Cadence.  It is Peter Rabit, Flopsy and Mopsy .

Ok it isnt working to post, I will try later.

Hey again Kel. When we first brought the boys home, we figured out that the only place they would sleep fairly peacefully and for the longest periods of time was in their car seats, so we actually let them sleep in their car seats for the first month or so. (The seats were in our kitchen on the table of their high chairs. My mum & I slept in the couches in our living room). Then we put the car seats in their cribs to get them used to their bedroom surroundings. Then finally we transitioned them to their cribs.

Connolly was still quite a fussy baby though. There was one night where I wrote down every time I had to get up to either feed him, settle him or give him a soother. Between midnight and 6am, I was up with him more than 30 times; sometimes every 10 minutes. Plus, I was up to feed the other two every 3-4 hours, so I was pretty much up every 30 to 60 minutes.

My advice, and many may not agree with me, is if Keira sleeps well in the swing, let her. The important thing is that she’s sleeping…and so are you…at least for longer than 1 hour at a time.

I know it doesn’t seem like it now, but the sleepless nights will end. I promise you.

I don’t know what types of chairs you have, but I know i recommend the vibrating chair from Fisher price. It can be a stable chair but also a rocker and it has a few different positions for sitting or laying. It goes from infant to toddler. The girls still love it. Any way I say this because it has been a life saver for us. On nights that emma wouldn’t sleep, I would stick her in that in our room and then I knew she was safely strapped in and I didn’t have to worry about her in the swing in the other room. You are expirencing the joys of motherhood. Some nights it is just about surving and getting through to the next day. Don’t worry about trying to get into routine and getting a schedual set, that happens in time. Remember that your kids are technically only a few weeks old ( you go by the due date with premis from what I remember) Most kids aren’t into a sleep routine until at least three months so do what you need to do to sleep and keep healthy.
